Why New Myth Create?

Why are your Audio books only available as MP3 files?

In recent years there has been an exponential increase in the availability of music in digital format, as well as the use of MP3 music players with which to play that music, such as the Apple iPod, and mobile phones which can store and play MP3s. Not to mention the growth of ‘Podcasting’, including by notable broadcasters such as the BBC who have made available some of their more popular radio shows in digital MP3 format to download from the internet. We have decided therefore to only make our Audio books available in MP3 digital format, as clearly this form of consuming music and information represents the future. Not only does this mean we can sell them cheaper (no packaging, or shipping costs) but it makes it easier for you to share them with your friends.

What is an MP3?

MP3 is the name of a computer file type that uses less memory - typically one tenth of the original file - to store music without compromising the sound quality. But it’s become a generic term for other, more recent formats such as WMA (Windows Media Audio) and AAC with slightly better sound quality.

Can I share my audio and eBook files?

You can. Although copyrighted material, the original purchaser of every audio book and e-Book is permitted to copy it in its entirety and give (not sell) to up to 100 people. The use of such free copies to promote or endorse, any product, service, organisation, or group without the prior permission of the publisher ‘New Myth Create eBooks’ is forbidden.

Can I pay by any other method other than PayPal?

At the present time we do not have the facilities to accept any other method of payment. Like many small businesses we have started our project on a small budget, and did not want to compromise our commitment to good design both for our website and book covers, so in Paypal’s e-commerce service have found both a secure and cost effective way of taking payments.

I have an idea for a book. Would you consider publishing it?

We are always willing to consider new ideas. But before you think about writing to us, really consider whether what you want to say resonates with the kind of ideas you find expressed on this site, and in our publications. If you haven’t yet read one of our publications first, then please feel free to do so.

Once you have, if you still think you have something we would be interested in, then please write to us, using the contact page, offering a brief synopsis (300 words) of your project.

If you are still in doubt, then consider the words of Herekhan Babaji, written shortly before his Mahasamadhi in 1984.

Be original. Be inventive.
Be courageous. Take courage again and again.
Do not imitate. Be strong. Be upright.
Do not lean on the crutches of others.
Think with your own head. Be yourself.
All perfection and every divine virtue are hidden within you - reveal them to the world.
Wisdom, too, is already within you - let it shine forth.

If this is what your book aspires to, then get in touch.

Why New Myth Create?

What is a myth?

‘A traditional story which helped to explain a natural or social phenomenon to help people to make sense of the world around them, to derive meaning from their lives.’

Why do we need to create new myths?

Although many of the myths of antiquity, still resonate deeply with us, not all of them do. The storytellers who created them, wove the threads of their stories to help people make sense of the world around them, at that time.

Today, however, we need new insight and imagination to help us articulate the apparent complexity of modern society. These new myths must be more than just nice stories to listen to; instead they must invite the listener to make new meaning of their life through direct action. Truly, no amount of spiritual knowledge can replace the beauty of direct experience. Taste the fruit!
